3rd Annual Witches Brew - Wine & Seltzer Walk

Event Description: Kick off the month with the 3rd Annual Witches' Brew event hosted by Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc.! First Thursdays are always a blast, but October’s edition takes a wicked fun turn. Sample wine and seltzers as you browse more than 30 participating boutiques, shops and restaurants. Tickets are required for this event ($25 for GA) and this year there is a special VIP Ticket that gives you early access, a VIP Wine pour and a Blush Farms + Cork Board charcuterie box! Costumes are encouraged and there will be a witchy raffle giveaway for those who participate.

Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers Market Pumpkin Festival

Event Description: Celebrate all things pumpkin at the Downtown Farmers Market Pumpkin Festival! From pumpkin-themed food and drinks to fall décor and crafts, this event has it all. Pick out the perfect pumpkin for carving, meet the pumpkin queen, and sip on pumpkin spice lattes while browsing through seasonal produce and handmade goods from local artisans. There will also be a FREE photo backdrop area with a 1955 Chevy truck with all the decorations to go with the season. It’s the perfect spot for fall enthusiasts and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the autumn atmosphere.

Event Description: Immerse yourself in the charm and beauty of historic downtown Liberty, Missouri, at the very first Art on the Side: Plein Air Liberty event! Artists of all skill levels are invited to capture the essence of our picturesque town, brimming with historic homes, landmarks and scenic parks. Participants will find endless inspiration as they paint amidst the vibrant atmosphere of Liberty’s Farmers Market and Pumpkin Festival. With so many wonderful places to set up an easel, this event promises a day filled with creativity and community spirit. All the artists will convene at 4 p.m. at The Artisan Market to hang their work for judging.

Garrison School Cultural School Open House
Hosted by the Clay County African American Legacy, Inc.
When: October 5, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Where: 502 N. Water St
Event Description: Explore the rich history of the Garrison School Cultural Center, a landmark of African American education in Liberty, Missouri. Established in 1877, this historic site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, features murals depicting the struggles for equal education and integration. Visitors can explore the grounds, including a Sankofa bird sculpture and historic markers. Inside, five exhibit rooms highlight local Black pioneers, Civil War-era artifacts, handmade quilts, Black baseball legends, and African American veterans. The lower level houses an art gallery showcasing African American art and history, including a tribute to President Barack Obama.

Spooky Trail Hunt

Event Description: A family-friendly, self-paced scavenger hunt awaits you at Ruth Moore Park! Search for the ghosts hidden throughout the park trail and enjoy a ghoulish adventure that’s perfect for all ages. The hunt runs through Halloween, so you can join the fun anytime during the second half of the month.

Event Description: Let the good times roll with Liberty Parks & Rec and Bike Walk KC at the first-ever Bike Rodeo! Bring the kids to the Liberty Community Center for a fun-filled day of biking—where they’ll learn essential bike safety tips, complete a bike course, and even get a chance to master riding with our expert instructors during the Learn to Pedal session (be sure to register in advance!). This family-friendly event is perfect for helping little ones gain confidence on two wheels or for others to brush up on their own biking skills. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve, it's a great way to get everyone pedaling safely.
