Liberty, Missouri has dozens of independently-owned retail shops that carry hard-to-find brands and many items you won’t find on Amazon.

Here is an introduction to 17 boutiques with amazing finds, white-glove service, and gifts you’ll want to buy in bulk.

Warning: Liberty boutique owners roll out the red carpet for visitors, so be prepared to build meaningful, not just transactional, relationships.

A set of Italian leather earrings will cost only a short drive to her 12,500-square-foot headquarters in Liberty and approximately $20 to $32. Of course, if you also purchase a leather handbag, Earhart cheetah sunglasses, a leather belt, or a gold earring stack, you may end up spending more. It's absolutely worth it.

Hot Sellers: Sling bags, also known as hip packs

Claim to Fame: Affordable, adorable styles in-store or online

Style House Owner Angie Roeder opened her boutique during the pandemic and has since won the hearts of women 25 to 80 who refuse to look dated. Her 1,000-square-foot boutique is somewhat hidden behind Corbin Mill, but never out of mind for her customers seeking trendy jeans, outfits, footwear, and accessories. Angie rotates new merchandise into the store weekly. Still, you can also find Flying Monkey, Risen, and Vervet jeans, as well as more handbags than any other boutique in Liberty.

Customers trust Angie's taste in fashion so much that they come to the store and ask her to style them head to toe. Style House also custom designs super soft sports-themed sweatshirts exclusive to her boutique.

The family that owns the store has nearly five decades of experience making homes look Instagram-worthy and making gift recipients feel completely seen and heard.

Petals and Potpourri is a great place to find wedding or housewarming gifts. The owners also hand-design custom home arrangements and artificial floral arrangements for select weddings.

Claim to Fame:  Everyone in her family is an entrepreneur (father, son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter) 

Main Street Goods and Goodies opened in 2010 with three priceless pieces of work: (1) an early 1900 ice block cooler, (2) an 1880 candy case, and (3) Owner Ann Dugdale, who owns the building, the store, and the hearts of the kids who return year after year to purchase vintage candy.

The majority of what you'll find in Ann's 1,600-square-foot store is one-of-a-kind, including antique furniture, Italian chandeliers, and numerous vintage oil paintings. She's trained antique pickers to constantly restock her store with precious goods, including china, vinyl albums, vintage jewelry, and home décor. If you're a serious antique aficionado, bring a truck.

You'll also find incense and crystals sold by her granddaughter, Jordon Dugdale, along with her series of self-authored mythological books. The store has fantastic energy.

Claim to Fame:  The best place to get your groove back

Sacred Creations is located on the second floor above Cooper Canary, which adds to the boutique's airy vibe. If you're into yoga, astrology, or the metaphysical, you've found your second home. Choose a t-shirt with sayings like Heavily Meditated, Divinely Guided, or I'm Just Working to Buy More Crystals. Don't leave without meeting Bandit, the owner's adorable dog or booking a massage, reiki or life coaching session.
