Green tea has more caffeine than white tea but less than oolong, and can have an earthy taste. And for the Southerners out there, Anna Marie's also carries an iced tea sampler. The sampler contains Blueberr Lemonade, Blackberry Mint, Lemon Souffle Roaibos, Nilgiri Iced Tea Blend, Peomegrante Black, and Cherry Black. Brenda Hedrick and her family began their family-owned business in 1984 as a design business called Bohnet Interiors, named after Brenda’s great-grandmother Anna Marie Bohnet.
A decade later, in 1994, Anna Marie’s Tea Shop was born. The shop was first operated out of the family’s gorgeous century home just blocks away from historic downtown Liberty. Until one day, Brenda was walking down Franklin Street and saw the current owner of the building, the local barber, washing his windows. She asked if he’d ever sell the beautiful little space, and the rest is history.
The family and community mindset that started the local family business is steeped into the soul of this brand.
Today, monthly-themed tea parties and private tea parties are still hosted in Hedrick’s gorgeous century home, inviting community and conversation over a delicious cup of tea and Brenda’s famous scones. Customers can enjoy tea parties on the family’s expansive porch or lovely garden, with themes ranging from a British Springtime Tea Party to A Shabby Chic Porch Party.
The tea shop, located at 9 W Franklin Street, is where locals and visitors can stop to get teas to enjoy at home. With 90 different loose-leaf teas, tea pots, cups, spoons, and tea wallets, you can find everything you need to brew the perfect cup of tea, and the perfect gift for the tea lover in your life too.
