Petals and Potpourri has been adding a little something extra to your home décor for over 40 years. By chasing its vision to celebrate every day, season and holiday this local business provides a variety of unique gifts, custom floral arrangements and inspiring seasonal home décor.
History of the Shop
1979 was a big year for the founder, Linda Hinton, and her family. It was the year she started this exciting venture, growing Petals and Potpourri from humble beginnings to all it has become today. After a fire destroyed their original location on the corner of 40 and 7 highway, the shop needed a complete restoration. Their family pulled together to rebuild and set up the new shop and made lifelong memories working together to restore all that was lost.
In 2015 they opened a second location in Historic Downtown Liberty. Linda’s children now run both sites and are inspired by their mother’s hard work and perseverance as she enjoys the perks of retirement.
What to Expect
Each season breathes new life into the shop by inspiring products that we can experience with all our senses. Winter essentials always include candles for low lighting, tea for warming up, warm bath soaks and baking essentials. Fall brings pumpkins, football and scents of apples, coffee and spice. We are looking forward to spring, and you will find fresh florals, sweet smells and lots of natural elements for decorating, like twigs and greenery.
You can pop into their Liberty location on in Historic Downtown Liberty, across the street from the Clay County Admin Building. Catch a peek at Petals and Potpourri during one of Historic Downtown Liberty Inc.'s community events, such as the Spring Open House, Dog Days of Summer Beer Crawl or Girls Night Out.
You can visit the other Petals & Potpourri location in Blue Springs or visit their blog for recipes, seasonal home inspiration and home tours to spark something new for your home.
