Hey Quilters - take advantage of this fun opportunity to celebrate your favorite hobby, learn something new or spend the day exploring downtown Liberty in a different way. The 4th annual Quilt Walk is a FREE event hosted by Liberty's only quilting shop; Quilting Is My Therapy.
Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
How It Works
Your quilt walk begins by stopping in the Quilting Is My Therapy shop located in historic downtown Liberty at 2 East Franklin Street. Here you will receive a map of participating businesses and a list of events for the day.
Each participating business will have a quilt on display and a free block pattern to make the Quilt Walk quilt exclusively designed by Angela Walters for this event. There will be a variety of vintage quilts, multi-generational quilts and modern quilts available for viewing at each stop.
There will also be "raffle stops" along the way, encouraging you to stop in shops and enter to win a free quilt.
English Paper Piecing Demo
From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., there will be an English paper piecing demo. English paper piecing is a quilt-making technique that incorporates a variety of fabrics and templates to create a mosaic design quilt. Learn from expert and guest of honor Tula Pink, who will be hosting this demonstration.
Tula Pink Meet & Greet Book Signing
Everyone is thrilled to have fabric designer, quilter and author Tula Pink as the featured guest of honor at this year's Quilt Walk. Many of her favorite quilts will be on display, and she will be lending her expertise during her English paper piecing demo many are looking forward to.
Be sure to bring any of your Tula Pink books for her book signing and meet and greet that will take place from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
